A TRADITIONAL ATTACHMENT TO LAND

Maison Raymond Ragnaud has always had a special bond with its founder’s native land: Grande Champagne. Its cognacs reflect the very soul of the best terroir of the appellation. Values and know-how are at the heart of its history, cultivating respect, elegance, exquisiteness and authenticity.

Grande Champagne is at the renowned Cognac appellation’s epicenter, producing the region’s finest, most promising and most notorious eaux de vie. In this prestigious appellation, Maison Raymond Ragnaud has owned a vineyard on the beautiful hillsides of Ambleville and Criteuil-la-Magdeleine since 1860, becoming one of the historical producers of the region.

Ugni blanc is the dominant grape variety, perfectly adapted to producing the necessary acidity, which is the ideal distilling brandy base that will become cognac after a long aging period. Indeed, before brandy cognac is wine. Raymond Ragnaud mainly grows ugni blanc. Marginally, a small part of the vineyard is planted with folle blanche grape variety to produce harmonious eau de vie with powerful aromas after distillation. Raymond Ragnaud hosts a unique collection of vintage eaux de vie elaborated from ugni blanc and folle blanche grape clusters.

Its location in Grande Champagne, one of the leading crus of the Cognac appellation, combined with its know-how, has enabled Maison Raymond Ragnaud to offer authentic and genuine cognacs, reflecting its historical terroir and legacy since its origins. These sterling cognacs embody and express a sincere and lasting attachment to the land that produces them.
